NFL News and Notes: Arians Bucks The Speculation 3j6s1e

With the NFL offseason doing its best to keep us all entertained given a complete lack of real-time action, the transaction that DIDN’T happen might be the best decision that has been made so far in the offseason. Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ head coach Bruce Arians appeared on CBS’s Tiki and Tierney and ended any speculation of Antonio Brown ing the Tampa Bay roster by saying, “Yeah, it’s not going to happen.” You have to love Arians.

First of all, who in their right mind would want this cat on their team right now? He clearly has some kind of all-encoming narcissism or, worse yet, mental disorder, going on and is not in his right mind.

The Bucs just made a good move in bringing in veteran Tom Brady at quarterback and have players from around the league interested in ing them at a discount (OL Joe Haeg) as well as re-g or tagging Shaq Barrett, Ndamukong Suh, and Jason Pierre-Paul.

It would be tragic to derail that positive momentum by bringing in a locker room cancer such as Antonio Brown, even considering his potential upside.

Rhodes s the Colts 4y1n5u

In a nice under the radar pick-up, the Indianapolis Colts have signed former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes. The three-time Pro Bowl selection was released by Minnesota earlier this month even after being selected to the Pro Bowl.

Rhodes was an All-Pro in 2017 and seen as one of the top corners in the league but failed to record an interception during the 2019 campaign. Since entering the league in 2013, he has 10 interceptions and three forced fumbles to go along with 318 solo tackles.

If there is a concerning statistic with Rhodes, it is that opposing teams completed 81.5% of their es targeted at him. He may not be the shutdown corner he was two seasons ago, but a $5 million price tag on a guy that was a Pro Bowl alternate last season is a chance worth taking.

Rams Re-sign Brockers 734r55

This is truly interesting. After the Ravens announced they wouldn’t be g of defensive lineman Michael Brockers, the eight-year veteran has re-signed with the Rams. It had been reported early in free agency that Brockers would be g a $30 million deal with Ravens, but the two parties apparently could not come to .

The current situation around the globe in regards to COVID-19 is considered the culprit in the deal’s demise.
Instead, Brockers will return to the team that he has spent his entire NFL career with thus far. Ian Rappaport reports that the deal with the Rams is worth up to $31.5 million.

Graham Still Wants To Make Big Plays 2b2g3

One of the toughest things to accept as a fan is watching a player’s physical abilities start to leave him. Imagine how difficult it is for the player.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Jimmy Graham claimed to still “have the ability to make big plays.” Given the decline we have all seen in recent seasons, that is obviously not the case. But, it is safe to assume that he has the ability to be effective.

The Bears gave Graham a two-year, $16 million contract this offseason, so they clearly have intentions to use him. I guess we will all find out together.
