PokerStars Begins Application Process for US Trademarks 1wu5v

With Amaya Gaming working hard to see PokerStars reenter the US online poker marketplace and reports calling for a fall launch, we have been expecting to see some movement by PokerStars in regards to launching in the United States. The company behind the top online poker room has now started filling out the applications needed to gain US trademarks, which can only be in preparation of offering online gaming in the US.

According to a recent report at Pokerfuse, the Rational Intellection Holdings Limited group has now filled out applications for trademarks in connection with the PokerStars brand. Last month, Rational applied for six different to receive trademark including:

PokerStars Caribbean Adventure

We Are poker

Zoom Poker

With the new applications, it is the first time the brand has tried to gain a trademark in the US in many years. In total, the Rational group holds 13 trademarks that are either ed or pending with the Federal Trademark Database in the US. Included in these are:

World Championship of Poker

Sunday Million

World Cup of Poker

WCOOP

PokerStars Spade

With Amaya Gaming reopening talks with New Jersey gaming officials, PokerStars may see reentry into the US as early as next month. The Division of Gaming Enforcement is currently reviewing an application of PokerStars and once approved, the company should be ready to launch, with a specific launch date in mind.

All the are essential to PokerStars making their move into the US, but perhaps Zoom Poker may be the most significant. Currently the US does not have a fast fold poker variant. When PokerStars comes back to the US, players will have the option of playing poker quickly. Zoom Poker is the fast fold variant of PokerStars and has been a big hit with international players and is expected to be the same with US gamers.
