David Baker Sures Top Pros to win Event #32 of the WSOP 2526r

Event #32 of the 2012 World Series of Poker was a $10,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. event and the best of the best forked over the large buy-in to compete. Just over 2,700 players ed for the event and in the end it was David Baker who earned the title win.

Baker managed to outlast several top pros including Phil Hellmuth and Phil Ivey. Hellmuth has already earned a bracelet this year, moving up to a total of 12, while Ivey has continue to make several final tables but has yet to earn a bracelet this year.

Hellmuth would go out in fourth place just behind Ivey in fifth. This left Paul Sokoloff, John Monnette and David Baker in three handed play. Sokoloff would be the first to go and Baker and Monnette would begin heads up play.

Monnette would hold the chip lead going into heads up play after taking out Sokoloff. It would take ninety minutes for Baker to come back and earn the title win. The win would take place during a hand of Stud. Both would go all in on this final hand, and Baker would hold 7 (7-4) and Monnette would hold 6 (J-8) and Baker’s up cards were 6-10-K and Monnette had 9-A-K. Baker would get a 7 on Seventh Street to get trips and claim the title win.
