Bovada No Longer Accepting Players from New Jersey 31384t

Bovada PokerAccording to a recent letter sent out by Bovada, the US version of Bodog, poker players in the state of New Jersey will no longer be able to an with the online poker room. The state of New Jersey was just added to the list of restricted states and Bovada will no longer be accepting new player s from the state.

This decision comes just days after OnlinePokerReport reported that the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement sent a letter to six super (also licensed) s in the US requesting they immediately remove any gaming links that are not authorized under federal law or a law of any state.

Speaking to OPR, DGE spokeswoman Kerry Langan stated that the Division of Gaming Enforcement believes this may either taint legitimate sites by associating them with the illegal ones, and conversely may lead the appearance that these illegal sites are d with authorized sites. She went on to further state that “this change will be a major issue with the online poker industry in the United States as s will have to choose if they will promote a regulated or unregulated poker room.”

Now back to Bovada. The letter released by Bovada is most likely connected to the letter by the DGE sent out just a few days ago. Bovada wants to remove themselves from the equation as they have not paid a fee to be able to promote their online poker room in the state. If Bovada continued to accept new player s, then they would be subject to the issue that now seems to be taking center stage in New Jersey.

In the statement by Langan, the spokeswoman stated that the DGE believes it is unfair to the companies that have subjected themselves to the strict licensing and regulatory requirements to have to compete with the illegal sites (such as Bovada) and the entities which are being paid to promote them.
