The Main Event of the 50/50 Series wrapped up on February 9, when a player from Belarus nicknamed “shkolota1488” managed to top the field and win a total of $116,625 after only a $50 buy-in prize that they had to pay to take part in the competition.

Everyone thought that it was impossible for a tournament to offer $1 million in guaranteed prizes and still ask for only $50 for a buy-in. However, PokerStars managed to pull it off, seeing a total of 19,502 entrants apply for the tournaments. On top of that, 8,902 re-entries were recorded. In the end, the field countries 28,404 entries, and the prize pool sured the guaranteed prize by $290,961. The Belarus player didn’t have an easy task, as they had to navigate through the huge field. However, it was all worth it in the end, as they took home a hefty prize, which was a result of a three-way deal.

The first player to hit the rail in the final table was an Estonian nicknamed “LilBigKahuna,” who managed to win a total of $8,658 from the $1.2 million prize pool.

After that, it was time for “Paddel1869” to hit the rail. The player who represented ended up with a total of $12,147 in their pocket. It’s interesting that as many as three Germans managed to make it to the final table of the tournament.

The only Hungarian, however, who made it to the very end was “JK-GuRRuNEAA,” who ended up in seventh place and won a total of $17,040. After that, it was time for George “kelevra561” Katsakos from Greece to wave goodbye to the rest of the final table, leaving in sixth place and winning $23,905 for his effort.

The fifth position was reserved for another German player who used the nickname “spasch.” They managed to win a total of $33,535.

A player representing Russia hit the rail in fourth place. Their online poker nickname was “Kot_Spartac” and they managed to win a total of $47,044.

The last three players then decided to strike a deal before continuing to fight for the final table. A player nicknamed “Unknownplayerrr” who was waving from Morocco was the first one to go bust and ended up in the third position with $85,275 in their pocket.

The remaining two players were “shkolota1488” and another german player — “rattyde.” They both fought for $10,000 in prize money, which was finally won by the Belarus player. On the other hand, “rattyde” had to settle for the consolation prize of $86,588.

This ended another great tournament on PokerStars, and it’s definitely one of the biggest that took place recently. After all, you don’t see tournaments with 28K+ entries every day, even if they are hosted by big online poker platforms. The next big tournament that PS plans to host is MicroMillion Marathon.
